Katie Hall and Matt Willis to star in 'Cabaret' in the West End
Katie Hall is best known for her long relationship with Les Misérables, while Matt Willis is a former Busted band member and Brit Award winner.
West End star Katie Hall and former Busted band member Matt Willis will play the new Sally Bowles and Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in London. They will begin performances at the Playhouse Theatre from 26 January 2026.
They take over from Broadway duo Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada, and join Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, Lucas Koch as Ernst Ludwig and Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie.
The cast is completed by Joe Atkinson, Xavion Campbell-Brown, Olivia-Rose Deer, Anya Ferdinand, Danny Fogarty, Adrian Grove, Ela Lisondra, Hícaro Nicolai, Andy Rees, Alexandra Regan, Manu Sarswat, Tom Scanlon, Eva-Rose Tanaka, Marina Tavolieri, and Lucy Young.
Hall is best known for her long relationship with Les Misérables, recently starring as Fantine in the musical's 40th anniversary at the Sondheim Theatre. Her other credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, Oklahoma!, Fiddler on the Roof, and West Side Story. Actor, presenter and singer Willis rose to fame in band Busted and has since starred as Fiyero in Wicked, Orin Scrivello in Little Shop of Horrors, Nick Hurley in Flashdance, Chuck Cranston in Footloose, and Dr. Pomatter in Waitress. Most recently, he has co-hosted Netflix’s Love is Blind UK, alongside his wife Emma Willis. Hall and Willis's final performance will be 23 May 2026.
Cabaret will also be welcoming new members into their Prologue Company from 9 February 2026, including Isobel Bates, Jonathan Charles, Shanelle Clemenson, Zara Liu, Brian James O’Sullivan, and Shiho Yokoyama.
Existing company members include Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Andrew Linnie, Dak Mashava, and Jack William Parry.
Matt Willis is not scheduled to perform on 18 March at 2.00pm and 7.30pm, 26 March at 7.30pm, 27 March at 7.30pm, and 28 March at 2.00pm and 7.30pm. At these performances, the role of Emcee will be played by Joe Atkinson.
Featuring songs such as "Wilkommen", "Don’t Tell Mama", and "Maybe This Time", John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Joe Masteroff's musical is set in 1930s Berlin and tells the story of American writer Clifford Bradshaw who falls for his new home and cabaret singer Sally Bowles, as the shadow of Nazism begins to take over.
